server help

I have been trying to create a server all night... I pasted info into urt ded shortcut target and applied it. Things like what ip to use and the fact that it was a dedicated server. I changed some basic things in my server.cfg file... like changing the game mode to ctf.

I opened my router and port forwarded q3a so my lan is accessible with gaming clients who use the internet.

When I open shortcut iourtded.exe to run my server.. the code stops working at a point and gives me an error that says .. couldn't load default.cfg. copy console log to clip board?

People who seem to be having this error are asking for help trouble shooting iourt ... because they can't log onto urt period but I am getting this error trying to create a server and there seems to be no help. Any tips or suggestions?

Well, I couldn't find anything on the internet about my problem and was thinking of asking for help in the urt forums.

I left the problem alone for a while and searched my urt files for things that could possibly be wrong with my urt files.

Earlier I had to make multiple copies of the urt folder because I was getting several different instructions on how to start a server. I even checked the urt manual and made a copy of urt in the default place to make things less cumbersome and arduous on me.

I took the urt I wasn't using out of the trash and compared the urt q3u4 files with the urban terror folder q3u4 folder I was actually working on.

Turns out my problem was a simple fix. I didn't include the default map pack.. which not only is needed to open urban terror but also used to make a dedicated server. Lines of code are in the pk3 file to even be able to run the game.

My server is not quite finished yet but when it is up and running, I will let you guys know.

We will have an alternative server ... with ctf mode on my favorite maps. Should be fun. I also will pm you guys the rcon password
